Vote for Yakkety-Yak for the Animex Audience Award!

I wasn't aware of this until Koen gave me a call. In February this year, Yakkety-Yak was selected and screened at the Animex festival in Middlesbrough, UK. It was "For Sock's Sake" who won the Stop Motion award.

Yet another Making of

Our short's almost finished now.
Tomorrow we're gonna record voices.
We already have the music and sound effects.
And the animation, cleanup and montage is completely finished.

So here you have a longer version of the making of.

Yeeeeehaw!

We finished our animation and are now officialy in post-production stage.
Our last shot was a bluekey we used for a flowery fore-plan.

Too short ...

While animating the scene where blue and red walk towards the camera we came to the problematic conclusion that our floor was too short. BUT! after thinking for about 3-4 minutes we remembered seeing a small plate (part of the big plates they used to make the animation tables at our school) which we've put in front of the camera so our two puppets could step a bit further.

Taking a walk

For our first walk animation we used a webcam, to be able to see what's happening out of the camera's view.
Here is a little video where we compare the linetest with the final image.
